Before we go any further, did you come here for 2 FREE ALBUMS? Here they are. We record music because we love to, and want to share with you all. So here are the IML's first two albums Superheroes of Science, and Superheroes of the Sea. Enjoy.
Back to the gig.
Hi and welcome. We're the Intercontinental Music Lab and we're going to play some tracks from our album "Superheroes of Science" as part of the 2009 Cambridge Science Festival. All of the albums we record are absolutely free and are generally about interesting things like x-rays, flying machines, submarines and Greek gods.
The show we're going to perform for you is going to be a light-hearted family friendly and interactive concert.
By way of an introduction to us we thought it would be nice to direct you towards the tracks we're going to perform live.
So here they are, enjoy:
PLAY "Call Them X" (lyrics coming soon)
A song about Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen who discovered X-Rays. He used to muck about at school but that didn't stop him being a genius.
PLAY "Wondermachines" (read the lyrics)
About a Brazilian aviator called Alberto Santos Dumont who invented flying machines.
PLAY "Sailing Back To Spain" (read the lyrics)
About a Spanish explorer called Antonio de Ulloa who established the first museum of natural history and looked at stars a lot.
PLAY "There Is Science In This Child" (read the lyrics)
About Cambridge scientist James Chadwick who worked with Protons and Neutrons (remember those words, you'll need to shout them out a lot).
PLAY "Know It Now" (read the lyrics)
About Galileo who discovered that the Sun didn't revolve around the Earth after all but in fact the Earth revolved around the Sun.
PLAY "John Muir" (read the lyrics)
About ... wait for it ... John Muir who was instrumental in creating national parks in the USA (mainly Yosemite) to preserve the wonder of nature.
