The Incredible Flight of Birdman are two parts Cambridge (Nick Osbourne/Rob Fisher) and two parts Colchester (Rich Yates/Doug Stuart). We have other parts, but we are too shy to reveal them in public.
So far, under the guise of IML collaborators/agents, we have provided the backing tracks for Dr. Robotnik, King of Pirates, and Freeman Lowell. All of them are, as you’ll hear, very different pieces of music. So far the theme/subject really has dictated the style of backing track we’ve produced, which is one of the great joys of doing working with the IML – it sucks out the unknown, like a kind of metaphysical musical hoover.
We are currently cooking up a Greeky mess for the new IML album and are about to release The Incredible Flight of Birdman’s debut single, called Where I Can’t See You, on January 11th 2010.
